Inland empire. The name of the latest of David Lynch masterpieces.Been waiting for this movie for quite some time. After it finally got a distributor for my country, I have been able to watch it. Though I've had to do a little trip to Valladolid (1 hour and a half by car from here) to watch it, but I'm satisfied with what I've got.
People has said everything about this movie, and few good. In my opinion, they're right if we just want to watch the movie and stop there. The movie is too confusing and disturbing. However, that's nothing new compared to his other movies. Fortunately for us Lynch fans, the fun doesn't stop there. His movies are full of cross-references, time-breaking sequences, and a lot of symbolism. As I like to say, watching a Lynch's movie is like listening a riddle no-one knows the solution. After you watch the movie (or listen the riddle), you're left to find its meaning or solution. And no, don't think it doesn't make any sense, as it's carefully thought, and yes, it's there :) As with riddles, the fun part is to think and try to find a theory that matches with the movie. Nobody will ever tell you the answer, but the feeling of self-realization one gets when finding out the theory might be right is... just great!
This is a good candidate for my cult movies list, definitely. Thanks David!
PS: Some Lynch pearls you should watch: Twin Peaks, Mulholland Drive, and Inland Empire... at least!

Whoa, small world! I live in the Inland Empire ;p. I haven't seen the film yet, though I have seen Mullholland Drive (that's a mind trip), and Twin Peaks, though it was so long ago I've forgotten it.
What a good excuse to watch it again! ;)
Hm Hm, I thought you were going to tell us your version about what happens in the film. I watched it but I haven't understood this oneiric film yet. Can you give me some clue? Maybe Linch has revealed something to the mass?
I don't want to buy "Inland Empire distiled for clumsy ones" XD
