One year ago...

One year ago, by this time, I had already presented my graduation project, and thus "unofficially" getting my bachelor's degree on computer science...

Since then, probably one of the best years of my life has passed.

I started, left, and restarted a personal game project I'm very thrilled about.
Also learned a lot of new and interesting things, after joining computer science a second time, this one, with the goal of the master's degree.
I briefly joined my aikido family (read in a previous post), and will join them again as soon as I find the time to do it!
Had my first job.
Did paint, draw, and even sculpting!
Was chosen as an Ogre MVP, now specialised as a moderator.
And some other things I will keep for myself :)

Summarising, I've had a very good time, and definitely wish this next year to be even better :)

Thanks all for listening

I am glad last year was so good for you. Sure the best is comming. For me the last months are being special too, altough not the best of my life! Maybe not to much time dedicated to know myself and learn not work related things, but anyway seeing how bad this world works for millions of people I feel very fortunate and as if I don't deserve much I have.

Yes, the whole world looks so miserable lately... Without going any further, what happened today about Srebrenica (is it spelled this way?). It's confirmed that it was a genocide, but no one has been found guilty...

What's happening??

Anyways, glad things go fine for you as well!

Hey Kencho,

Glad to see your having good times. Keep up the great mentality and it should continue. Aikido is a great art/philosophy to have in your life... I myself am learning the art of Ninjutsu, having just found a temple in the local area.

I just read over your post about the fog concept stuff you have going, that looks really awesome! Any plans to integrate this into Caelum, or is it going to be a stand-alone type of thing?

Take it easy,
Wyx

Hi Wyx!

I've always been looking for learning Ninjutsu and Aikido, but unfortunately there has never been a dojo in my town (until last year, that an Aikido dojo opened here). Though I feel I'm getting older to learn Ninjutsu *sigh*

Yes, I would like to integrate that fog into Caelum as soon as I get some time to figure out how to do it. I'm currently working on a project (where that proof of concept is from) and it's taking me loads of time. However, unless the game goes gold commercially somehow, I'll release the source a bit later after finishing it. Anyways, certain parts of it will probably be released a little before (the camera system module, the postfilters...)

Kencho,

Yes, Ninjutsu is definitely an art that requires much... of your life to really master. Every Soke (Ninja Grand Master) that I've seen or heard of had been training since around the ages of 3-5 (!!). Though these are people who not only learned Ninjutsu, but also usually several other arts, including Aikido.

Though you have no dojo locally (and you might well actually, it could just be very hidden?), you could always grab some great books. One of my favorite authors is Ashida Kim. Try searching on Google for other ones if your interested. This obviously won't give you what you truly desire, but it will definitely be a step in the right direction, and on top of your Aikido training it should be pretty easy to get some of the basic (and not so basic) principals down.

Your game project has me very curious, and I'm excited for you. Also, thanks very much for being so kind as to release such great Ogre addons as Caelum, and as you hint at, some great future releases as well. Keep up the good work, and can't wait to see your game!

Yes, know him :) I've seen loads of videos from Kim, Hayes, Hatsumi sensei... And books as well. Indeed I have a ninja closer than you think, though we don't have the time to train together :(

Hehe, I wish I get together some material to release soon as some teasing videos/images. Not very soon, but I won't wait too much to release them ;)
